Sokos Hotel Tammer
The reception will be held at Sokos Hotel Tammer, which is also where we will staying for the main nights. It is a gorgeous Art Deco style hotel, with lovely rooms and main areas. Tammer was completely refurbished in 2009 and is located by the Tammerkoski Rapids in the city centre.
We have arranged for a quota, so if you are interested in staying there, you can book directly with the hotel, just mention “Häät Pellonperä” when you book. A standard room is 110 EUR a night, while a superior room is 135 EUR. You can either email the hotel sales at sokos.hotels@sok.fi or call them on +358 20 1234 632.
The quota is valid for bookings between 1-7 July 2010 and the rooms will be reserved until 4 June 2010 (they will be released for general sale a month before the wedding).
Please ask us for more details or visit the hotel website for more information.
Omena Hotels
This is a budget friendly, if basic, option. Think of a HolidayInn Express minus the service and reception desk, and you get what I mean. However, there are two Omena Hotels in Tampere, one only 200m away from Tammer, so it also very convenient for celebrations. Nights at Omena Hotel will usually cost around 60 EUR for a room that will accommodate up to four people, so it is a bargain.
Check out this link for more info and details on how to book.
James and I will be staying at one in Helsinki, so we will be sure to report back on the experience. I would also recommend reserving your room early if you want to stay there, as I think they fill up quite quickly, especially during the summer weekends. (To read about our stay, please go here.)
Other options
Another options is a well known and respected chain Scandic Hotels, which are operating 3 for 2 offer at the moment, making the rooms cost 101 EUR (standard) or 120 EUR a night. Click here for more information.
There are no B&Bs in Tampere to speak of, but if you would like more ideas on places to stay, please let us know and we will assist in any way we can.
